Central PA Teen Charged In Shooting, Car Crash, That Killed Lebanon Teen, Police Say

A central Pennsylvania teenager has been charged in connection with a shooting and subsequent car crash that killed another teenager, according to police.

Jaedyn Gaines, 17, of Lebanon, was arrested by Lebanon City police on Oct. 27, according to court documents.

Gaines and another suspect who remains at large intended to rob the 16-year-old and another victim during the meetup to buy marijuana on Wednesday, according to police.

Following a disagreement, Gaines shot the 16-year-old, as police previously stated and Daily Voice reported at the time. 

The car crash occurred as the victim attempted to drive away but died from his wound, crashing the vehicle, as previously reported.

Gaines has been charged with the following according to his court docket:

  • F1 Criminal Homicide
  • F1 Criminal Conspiracy Engaging - Criminal Homicide

He has been held in the Lebanon County Prison as he was denied bail, according to his docket.

His preliminary hearing has been scheduled with Magisterial District Judge Barbara H. Nixon on Nov. 4 at 8 a.m., as stated on his docket.

The investigation is ongoing as police continue to look for the second offender.
